LWZ home assessment team

One of LWZ's key successes is their multi-lingual Home Assessment Team who go out and find the people who are in most need of help to keep their homes warm and fuel bills lower.

Our partner local authorities identify areas in their borough and write to residents to explain that a LWZ assessor will visit their home to see if they are eligible for any energy efficiency grants. The assessors visit homes on a street by street basis and offer people the opportunity to answer a series of simple questions on their doorstep to determine whether or not they qualify for any help. Our assessors may only enter the property with the permission of the householder in order to check the level of loft insulation. The assessment data is processed and the resident will be informed of any heating or insulation work we can can help with, and with their permission LWZ will then arrange for the contractors to carry out any necessary work.

Residents who are identified as not claiming any disability or income benefits can also be referred to LWZ’s welfare advice team, who will get in touch to offer advice and help to complete benefit application forms.

All London Warm Zone assessors carry ID badges. If one of our assessors visits your home please ensure that you see their identification. If you are unsure and require further clarification please call us on 0800 389 7286.
